The Perth Catholic Youth Ministry office is seeking two vibrant new staff to join the Youth Ministry team.

Youth Ministry Worker (Fulltime position – ongoing)

The successful applicant would be required to:

  • Work within the Youth Ministry team to provide support to individuals and groups in youth ministry through parishes and the broader community in the Archdiocese of Perth.
  • Continue to grow and promote youth ministry networks throughout the diocese.
  • Assist in coordinating diocesan youth initiatives
  • Undergo screening in accordance with the West Australian Working with Children Check
  • Hold a current C Class driver’s license

Experience in parish youth groups and/or youth ministry team (e.g. YMT or NET) is recommended. Marketing and communication experience is desirable, but not essential. Employment start date March 2017.

Salary and Conditions
A remuneration package will be negotiated according to qualifications and experience. The salary package includes the supply of a work vehicle.

‘Year of Youth’ Project Worker (Full-time position – 2-year contract)

The Perth Catholic Youth Ministry office is seeking a vibrant project worker to join the Youth Ministry team. This role will be a temporary position for 2 years and will be working to provide support and training for adults to engage in the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference ‘Year of Youth’, across parishes, schools, communities and movements in the Archdiocese of Perth.

The Year of Youth will run from 3 December 2017 until 25th November 2018. The theme: “Open New Horizons for Spreading Joy: Young People, Faith and Vocational Discernment” calls for the whole Church community to engage in supporting young people and their faith life in new ways. The successful applicant(s) would be required to:

  • Work within the Youth Ministry team to provide training and support to key stakeholders in parishes, schools and the broader Catholic community in the Archdiocese of Perth to encourage engagement and support for the ‘Year of Youth’.
  • Promote and create awareness of the ‘Year of Youth’ in the Archdiocese of Perth.
  • Continue to grow and promote youth ministry networks throughout the diocese.
  • Coordinate diocesan youth initiatives for the Year of Youth.
  • Coordinate the groups travelling to Sydney for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival.
  •  Assist with World Youth Day Panama preparations for 2019.
  • Undergo screening in accordance with the West Australian Working With Children Check.
  • Hold a current C Class driver’s licence
  • Experience working with parishes or schools is desirable.
