Here are the profiles of two first time attendees of Embrace the Grace answering some important questions on their experience so far
I first heard about ETG from my sister Annie, who’s been on it four 4 times. CYM has also been very active in advertising the conference at their weekly Holy Hour and on their social media throughout the year.
At the Holy Hour every week I’ve been mingling many people who have come to ETG. We have all felt very welcomed at the conference and so far it’s been really good.
I am expecting to find God throughout ETG. So far I have gotten a lot from the praise and worship sessions. Through the work of the Saints, we have also been learning about the Church teachings and what God can do for us.
It’s been great up here at ETG. New Norcia is a very beautiful town. Although the weather is hot, it’s definitely been worth the trip. I’m loving all the people here and I am learning heaps from the conference!
I’m hoping to grow in my faith and build my relationship with God during these next five days. It is important to me to be able to find God on as personal level while also meeting heaps of amazing young Catholics!
I heard about ETG from a number of different sources. Originally, a youth leader of my parish invited me to come but I just wasn’t available to make it that year. I’ve just been back on my mind ever since then. More recently, I have become more involved in CYM events. I went to World Youth Day with CYM and really loved getting to know a great group of people and having the opportunity to explore my faith a bit more. Embrace The Grace seemed like a really great chance to do more of that.
2. What were your expectations of ETG prior to departing Perth for New Norcia?
I thought ETG would be a great place to meet new people and learn more about my faith on a deeper level. I was also looking forward to praise and worship and hearing from some great speakers.
I’m really excited to be at New Norcia. The town is an awesome place for a conference. I’ve been very lucky and really excited because I’ve met so many dynamic individuals. The participants have been really friendly and the speakers have a lot to share. I know it’s going to be a great five days.
4. What are you hoping to get out of the next five days?
I’m hoping to have the chance to think more about the theme of this conference, ‘Who Am I’ in the context of the Catholic faith. I want to explore this theme deeply as well as hearing from lots of awesome speakers. I know this will be a fantastic place to make heaps of new friends and have a great time socializing.
