Riverton – Our Lady Queen of Apostles

Contact Details

Our Lady Queen of Apostles Youth Ministry is a parish-based Catholic youth apostolate, which advocates for youth involvement in all ministries at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Parish in Riverton. Our members work together to renew faith, rekindle love, and bring about more youthful participation in Church and the community.

History

Our Lady Queen of Apostles Parish in Riverton has been under the care of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottine Fathers & Brothers) since 1951. The first Pallottine community was founded in Rome in 1835 by St Vincent Pallotti who inspired both religious and laity to be involved in the mission of the Church as Community.

St Vincent was canonised in 1963, and named as principal patron of the Pontifical Missionary Union of Clergy. He was deemed a patron of Vatican II for his efforts towards building unity in the Church. St Vincent Pallotti was also very active in youth ministry, and he is a patron saint of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Youth Ministry.
