After months of preparing for the incredible World Youth Day and travelling thousands of kilometres to celebrate their Catholic faith with millions from all over the world and our beloved, Papa Francisco – it was finally time for the pilgrims who travelled from the Divine Mercy Youth Ministry based in Maddington Parish to unpack their experiences for other young people in the community.
The night included testimonies from the pilgrims who went to Brazil and encouraging the young people present at the event to live out their faith. The night also comprised of share group discussions, with the groups discussing the Pope’s homily at the Final Mass and what it meant to them to ‘Go, Be not afraid and serve’. The event concluded with an adoration – which was a silent reflection, re-enacted to be similar to the night vigil held on Copacabana beach with millions of pilgrims, for the youth that could not make it to Rio for World Youth Day.
The Divine Mercy Youth Ministry runs regular youth events from age 16 – young adults and their next youth gathering will be held on Sunday 24th November 2013 at 10.15am. Contact DMYM on 0415841737″
