These are exciting times at Catholic Youth Ministry Perth, with the addition of 3 staff members to the team to see out the rest of the year. These 3 highly competent young men all have experience working in youth ministry and bring different skill sets to the table, for what expects to be some interesting months up ahead.
Together with years of experience in commerce and working in the corporate world, Matt has also been heavily involved in both working and volunteering in youth ministry. With several years spent living and working in Japan as an English teacher, the relational aspect of youth ministry is certainly one of his strong points. In addition to being a muso and having a keen interest in aviation, Matt’s special talent lies in photography, having pursued and developed his passion for it from a young age. He seeks to make a difference in the world, particularly among young people, and by walking with them hopes to glorify God through what he does.
A selfless and determined individual, Matt has spent almost a decade involved in youth ministry. Coming from a strong theological background and having much experience in the organisation of youth events, he has a passion for the liturgical aspects of the Catholic Church, and aspires to use his degree in Theology for the good of others. His creative instincts can also be found in his enthusiasm for building elaborate and complex Lego structures, while also being a wine connoisseur with a refined palate. Through his ministry and working with young people he wishes to bring the Word of God fully alive across all facets of life.
Josh too is no stranger to the youth scene, having worked in youth ministry on a parish level for over four and a half years. With a double degree in Media & Communications, he has also spent time living and working in multiple countries throughout Europe and Asia. An avid traveler and people person, his great passions in life in addition to travel are soccer, opera singing, extreme sports and adventure seeking, along with a particular penchant for Belgian beer. His affinity toward youth ministry is driven by a desire to bring people closer to Christ and help them experience the richness of God’s love which he himself has felt intensely throughout his faith journey.
