Last 19th of May, Pentecost Sunday over 20 potential youth leaders from Baldivis and Port Kennedy Parish gathered for the first time to kick start a Multi Parish Youth Ministry (MPYM) project initiated by Catholic Youth Ministry Perth.
The purpose of a Multi Parish Youth Ministry is to unite and encourage collaboration between parish youth leaders to give strength, share resources and provide support for one another when it comes to youth ministry.
The four parishes involved which consists of Baldivis, Port Kennedy, Rockingham and Kwinana, aims at building a strong and stable youth leadership team. Ultimately, their goal is to create and develop a solid and fun youth group in their own respective parishes with their own parish identity. With the assistance of Catholic Youth Ministry and the support of the parish priests, this project is surely well on the way of taking off.
The MPYM youth leadership team which consists of both parish priests and young adult leaders will continue to meet fortnightly in the hope of developing a strong mission for the group, to pray, reflect and create an environment and place of growth. They are looking forward to making a mark in the Youth Ministry scene in the South of the River of Perth, and also inspire other parishes to do the same.
Watch this space for future breaking news about the MPYM project. Let us keep them in our prayers.
