On Friday 20th May, Cottesloe- Mosman Park Parish launched their youth ministry. A group of young people were invited to the parish hall to discuss their ideas and hopes for youth ministry in the parish.
Parish Priest Fr James and assistant priest Fr Noe have hoped to build a youth group in the parish for many years. They saw the potential in youth leaders Thea and Jose. Thea and Jose are both UWA students and are excited and enthusiastic about building community and discipleship in their parish.
Parish priests, youth leaders, and a handful of teenagers met for an evening of discussion and getting to know each other. With the obligatory mass pizza order and smorgasbord of snacks the evening got off to a delicious start. Thea lead the group as they discussed, the bigger picture of what they envision a youth group to be, as well as the final details of when, where and how frequently to meet. Youth leaders then gave testimony to their own experiences from youth groups, culminating in Fr Noe sharing his vocation story. Fr Noe gave witness to the transformative experience of God’s love and looked forward to the flourishing of the youth group, knowing that like the mustard seed, from little things big things grow.
Young people looking to get involved can contact Fr Noe (93842421) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and come along to the next youth group event on Friday June 10th
